The Cornmill was perfect for our family weekend away. There’s something for everybody to do, cosy sitting areas, lovely decorated rooms and not too far from a day out at the beach! We had a great weekend and looking forward to booking again for our next family celebration!
It was my 70th birthday and we booked the Cornmill for 3 days for a family celebration. The accommodation surpassed expectations. The games room was brilliant and the spa was so relaxing. All the rooms were so comfortable. A special venue.
A perfect weekend for a large group of us coming from Edinburgh and London and needing somewhere to meet in between to celebrate the upcoming wedding of our dear friend! Nickie helped us organise a grazing board for our arrival and a chef to cater our second night, The Skinny Chef, who was great so highly recommend!! We all had a lovely time at the old Cornmill, a perfect place to host such a special weekend as it’s a great space for getting everyone together 💙 Nickie was also very easy to communicate with ahead of the booking and throughout if we had any questions. Would definitely recommend!
we had an amazing time here for a 30th birthday celebration. The house was huge and the games room, large hot tub and pizza oven were a massive bonus. Photos do not to this place justice! The views and surrounding area are so quiet and peaceful. We brought a dog with us and it was perfect for her too and was fenced in so that she can roam around the grounds freely! Thanks so much for a wonderful stay.
A group of 9 of us stayed at the Cornmill for multiple birthday celebrations. We arrived and checked in with no problems using the very clear instructions provided by Christopher. The house and outside areas are very clean and well maintained. we’d hired a private chef for the first night of our stay and he was very impressed with the well stocked kitchen and dining area. After dinner we all made full use of the games room and the amazing Sonos sound system which is available throughout the house, (tip: read the instructions in the welcome pack on how to use this, as we somehow found ourselves in an Alanis Morisette loop for an hour).
We were all very impressed with the house and amenities, and by the way, the pictures really don’t do the view justice.
we wouldn’t hesitate to return to the Cornmill and we have already discussed booking again for next year. I would highly recommend it if you are looking for a private, peaceful retreat.
Plenty of space and very well equipped. Something for everyone. Felt more like a home than holiday listing. We enjoyed a pizza night in the garden with the wood fired oven. One of the best places we have stayed in for a family get together. Thank you

We stayed at the Cornmill for my father in laws 80th and was quite suprised we were the first !! It was perfect for what we wanted. The whole house suited all 11 of us that came and the dog. The games room and hot tub was perfect for the children it kept them all very occupied, the library at the top of the landing was amazing and caught the eye of the readers in the family ! Chris’s replies were very quick and any concerns we had were answered immediatly. Check in was so easy, we had no issues with check in or check out. Wifi in the whole house is available and works really well. Also the photos on the website do NOT give this building justice its beautiful ! We stayed in February so was quite miserable in weather, but we would love to come back in summer and enjoy the hot tub and pizza oven outside with a bottle or two of vino. Thank you again for a wonderful stay and one we will all cherish with great memories for my father in laws 80th ! It was special. Thank you again !

The house has everything you need from outside space with hot tub and ample seating to the games room inside and fantastic kitchen lounge .The views are to die for. Great communication with the owner and would not hesitate to book again
The e-key storage didn’t work, but a telephone call put all that right, and Chris came straight over with a key. Everything else was terrific and we had a thoroughly enjoyable time. There’s loads of space, great for friends and family get-togethers. The massive kitchen, dining, lounge is very warm with a fabulous view and it’s where we spent most of our time. The bedrooms are in the other wing, so no noise disturbance if some people want to stay up longer than the rest. Also the sound insulation between bedrooms and bathrooms is good. We would have no hesitation in recommending this holiday stay. Would definitely go back.
We stayed here for 2 nights for a family getaway with my 2 year old. it’s such a beautiful house, the rooms were spotless, loads of amenities and activities to do, there is baby gates on the stairs which were extremely handy and a toy kitchen set which kept my toddler entertained. Chris was easily reachable and responsive if we needed anything. We are already thinking of returning and have boasted about the house to friends and family who are also looking into visiting. More then recommend.

The pictures do not do this place justice, it’s so much nicer and bigger than what is shown. We visited with 10 adults and there was plenty of space for everyone to chill. The hosts were extremely responsive and helpful when needed, and the impression received is that had we needed anything they would have tried to accommodate us. We’d highly recommend this place to others and we’d love to revisit if the opportunity provides it.
Brilliant accommodation with everything you’d need and more. We visited with 6 adults and 5 kids from 0.5-10 years, and it was a more than big enough space for us. We loved having the space to cook and sit down altogether for meals on an evening. The kids were obsessed with the air hockey and games room. And the hot tub was the perfect way to relax at the end of the day. We only stayed a few nights, so never had the chance to explore the local area much. We instead used it as a base to explore Scarborough, Whitby and Hull. The hosts were very welcoming and responsive to messages. Had we needed anything I got the impression they would’ve done whatever they could to help. I’d highly recommend the place, and I’d easily book it again in the future if the opportunity comes up.

Well Well Well, Air b&b just asked was the description as you experienced errr no! it was a million times better than we could imagine! It has such a home feeling, yet massive and simply stunning! We went as a group for my mother in laws 70th, age ranges from 18m – 78 and we all thoroughly enjoyed it. The value for money is exceptional & the hosts and owners were on hand to help with any queries, we were privileged to be the second guests here and hope to be back. Don’t waste time reading my review just BOOK it quick 😁
